Lash Extensions
When choosing a style, several factors should be considered. Is it for everyday or for an event, what's your lifestyle & do you have the time for appropriate aftercare instructions? Classic eyelashes, give more of a ‘mascara’ look as the lashes are thicker in diameter and placed 1 on 1 to the natural lashes.. Whereas, with volume lashes, finer lash fans are used per natural lash, which creates a more ‘fluffy’ full look. Volume lashes are also great if you have gaps in your lashes as the fans overlap, making it appear as if the gap is not there. Hybrid lash style is a combination of classic & volume resulting in a natural but slightly 'fluffy' look.
What style should I choose?
How often should I get infills?
It is common to lose between seven to ten lashes every day, but as they are constantly in a renewal cycle, this is nothing to worry about and generally, you don’t even notice. There are however seasons throughout the year, specifically spring and autumn, where lashes will shed more noticeably. As a result, it is advisable to get regular infills every two to three weeks. This way, the lash extensions do not harm the natural lash & it keeps them healthy & full.
How do I prepare before my lash appointment?
Please try to come to your appointment with no eye makeup on as removing this will eat into your lash applying time & lower the amount of lashes applied. Important if you are seeking a very full lash look. Avoid using any oil-based products around the eye for 24 prior to your appointment.
How do I take care of my lash extensions?
Cleaning your lash extensions properly is extremely important. Improper or avoiding cleaning them can cause lash extensions to fall out prematurely, can lead to potential infections, eye irritation, poor lash health and lash mites.
Clean your lash extensions every two to three times a week, or daily if you wear eye-makeup every day & have oily skin. Ensure to clean your lash extensions after swimming and activities that cause excessive sweating
.
-
Using a lash foaming cleanser and cleaning brush, apply the foam to the lid and lashes.
-
Use gentle, circular motions with the brush to work the cleanser into the lashes, and breakdown any makeup or dirt.
-
Rinse thoroughly with water.
-
Pat dry with a tissue and brush through with a clean mascara wand.
-
Avoid cotton buds/pads, make-up wipes, facial sponges and face cloths on your lash extensions as they can pull at your lashes causing loss of and damage to your lashes.
-
Avoid vigorously rubbing your eyes.
Waxing
How Often Should I Get My Eyebrows Waxed?
Brows generally require waxing about every two weeks, although it varies by person. Some people grow hair at a faster rate than others and benefit from waxing every one and a half weeks, while others can go up to three weeks or longer between sessions.
Will It Hurt?
Getting your eyebrows waxed for the first time is probably going to be slightly uncomfortable. However, the more you wax, the less it will hurt. Continuous waxing eventually weakens the hair follicles, making the experience much more manageable. At Flique, we use a sensitive wax that has an olive oil blend which causes little irritation to the skin. After waxing a soothing solution is applied & some concealer if desired to avoid that fresh pink skin effect when travelling onwards after your appointment.
What Will My Skin Look Like After the Waxing?
Your eyebrows will likely be a little pink immediately after the waxing session. However, you can speed up the healing process by applying cooling ointments, such as chilled aloe vera gel if it is your first time & uncomfortable once you get home. Although generally this subsides 15 - 30 minutes after waxing.
Lash Lift
How long will a Lash Lift last?
Because the Lash Lift uses your natural lashes to create that coveted wide-eyed look, this amazing treatment will last up to 6-8 weeks. To care for your lift, following aftercare instructions will keep the lashes at their best. To do this, make sure you:
Do not get them wet for 24 hours post treatment.
Oil them every second day to hydrate.
Brush them every day & after any hot/steamy environments like bath/showers.
Book a maintenance appointment in between lash lifts around the 4 week point to revive & retint your lashes.
As with every beauty treatment, results can vary from person to person, and some activities, including swimming for example, can cause the bonds in the lashes to prematurely weaken. If your lash lift doesn’t last the full 8 weeks, the minimum time frame you can repeat the treatment is 6 weeks after your initial procedure. A complimentary keratin nourishing treatment is applied to every lash lift treatment.
Eyebrow Lamination
How long does an Eyebrow lamination last?
The brushed up effect of Brow Lamination lasts about 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your brow hair. Fine to normal brow hair tends to last a little longer. To enjoy the lifted effect for weeks, the eyebrows must be combed in the desired direction every morning. Brow serum can be applied after 24 hours to nourish the hair follicle and to avoid stiff & dry brow hair weeks after initial treatment. Oiling them every 48 hours will help to keep them hydrated & in shape. A brow sculpt, wax & tint are included in the treatment. Alternatively you can book a hybrid stain with your lamination which gives a longer lasting tint to the brows. A maintenance appointment 3 to 4 weeks after laminating your brows can rejuvenate & freshen the look! This includes a brow sculpt, wax & tint also. Every brow lamination treatment includes a keratin nourishing treatment that infuses hydration & a mixture of nutrients back into the hair follicle.
Phibrow Microblading
What is Phibrow microblading?
PhiBrows Microblading is a hyperrealistic technique of drawing eyebrows manually (using a blade consisting of micro needles). It is a semi permanent tattoo procedure that uses a tiny blade dipped in pigment to "draw" hairstrokes into the brow. PhiBrows is one of the most popular beauty treatments today thanks to the range of benefits it provides to clients.
Besides saving you time drawing eyebrows every day, PhiBrows Microblading treatment has a strong impact on self-esteem in various situations when brow make-up can be erased. In the rain, at the seaside, during exercise: clients who use PhiBrows Microblading technique never have to fear that their makeup will melt off.
Treatment time takes approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. During this time, the brows are measured & mapped unique to your face shape & structure. Communication with the client is key & no microblading is performed until the client is 100% happy with the shape. There is little to no pain as a numbing agent can be applied beforehand. Once the initial hairstroke design has been achieved, the remaining treatment time is implementing the pigment into each individual hairstroke until a natural result is achieved. The final result - Undetectable hairstrokes that look completely natural, resulting in beautiful brows that are structured, no gaps or sparse areas & shaped to compliment your face.
Included in the treatment is a top up treatment which is advised. this takes place 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment. It allows the client & the technician to assess the brows & make any adjustments needed. Typical top up treatment time is 1-1.5hours.
Aftercare is imperative to achieve maximum successful results with phibrow microblading. Aftercare products are provided & must be applied for the specific time advised by us. Full precare instructions will be provided once a booking is made & full aftercare instructions will be provided at the end of your treatment. It is also advisable to book Phibrow Microblading when you are not attending any special events/nights out or occasions up to a week after your treatment.
